April 30 Library Meeting

Staffers still needed for the following shifts:
Sunday May 4, 3-6
Sunday May 18, 3-6
Wednesdays, first shift, 4-7

present: Chris, Corina, Dave, Mandy, Blaine, Megan, Kevin

Agenda:

Mural
 - we have the go ahead to change the "bibliophile" mural. Corina will
come up with new mural idea, to be painted on the top few feet of the
wall. Blaine will assist in painting. Mandy will supply corkboard for the
remainder of the wall. No time schedule yet.

Staffing Coordinator
 - Chris signs on for another three months as staffing coordinator. He'll
scream for help if he starts to drown. He's responsible for making keys
for Eric and Monty, new staffers.

Extra days reportback
 - For the month we've added Tuesdays, we haven't been able to staff it
consistently. We're going to keep Tuesdays but not add another open day
yet.

Language Lessons
 - Mandy proposes that we have more lessons and events here to draw people
in - eg, Romanian lessons. Dave adds that we should look into getting
trained at the Benefits Bank, a program that will train you in teaching
people who to access services like food stamps online. Mandy, Corina,
Jeff, Chris and Megan were interested.

Outreach
 - Mandy signs on for brand new position of Outreach Coordinator - she
will take on distributing flyers, talking up the neighborhood, and
laminating a poster to put outside. Dave will make new flyers
highlighting our computer services and new open hours, and supply them to
Mandy, including one really big one as a poster. Corina and Chris will
write an ad to put in newspapers, Dave will research which newspapers to
take out ads in.

Shelf Doors
 - Blaine and Chris will determine a time this month to fix the shelf doors.
