hi mary,
i just casually mentioned the mural to some of the other librarians and
someone asked what was being planned and if we would have any input in
deciding it. basically curiousity.
my main concerns (about all the art going up in lava) are that they're
durable (can take numerous hits from ladders and things being
attached/unattached, stuff will be scraped against it etc.).
Also that it will take into account that the space will likely be
rearranged at some point. We'll probably change the setup of the shelves
sometime to maximize our use of that space. we've talked about it some,
but so far there are only mor eor less vague ideas being kicked about.
Jay sent me the proposal about what's going up. so i'll pass that on to
the library.
cheers, dave

I wanted to touch base to update that slightly: I decided since writing the proposal to ax the text beyond "bibliophilia" as extraneous. Which may also cause less concern for the library group.

But I have been excited as a book and paper maker and general bibliophile to be able to contribute to the space, and specifically the library space, in this way.
