*STAFFING
-events happening @ LAVA that we want to have the Library open for?
   1. January 5th : first friday event 10pm-2am
   2. January 14th : La Commune 11am-nightime
   3. January 17th : Geoclan Film Screening 6-8pm
-staffing coordinator for Jan.?
   Kristin volunteered. Her number is 215-880-9007. Please call in  
advance if you have to cancell on a shift. 
-next meeting?
   last thursday of the month : January 25th 7pm

*OUTREACH
-flyering sign up: 
   Kristin - Green Line Cafe, the Wooden Shoe, A-Space, Satellite
   Chris - Bookhaven, Book  Trader, Kelly Writers House
   Dave - Lancaster av. spots, barbershops, Kaffa
   Lou - UPenn
   Corina - both Robin's book stores, Last Drop Cafe
   Danielle - free library branches that she goes to
-Radio Volta PSA: Chris and Corina 
-Palm Cards? : Dave volunteered to check out the specifics on palm 
cards for the library and bring back the details and maybe even a 
design for february's meeting.

*WORKDAY
-we decided it would be nice to routinely have a monthly workday. 
-we decided that this month we'd have our workday on Sunday Jan. 7th 
and that every month after that it would be the first Sunday of every 
month. 
-what do we need to do on our Jan. 7th workday?
  1. more shelves!
  2. we need money-- plan fundraisers
  3. 6-7 books need to be processed from the basement
  4. zine organization
  5. signage for shelves
  6. re-organize newsprint & do something more useful w/ that wall

*EVENTS
-definite:
  1. benefit show for the library to happen either jan/feb - Chris & 
Danielle
-various ideas:
  1. film festival? 
  2. kids films?
  3. children's after school stuff
  4. open mic nights
  5. poetry readings

*LOU'S PROPOSAL
-to do a series of researches that people wanted to fo that tie into 
the idea of zapatista autonomous communities; caracoles
-how do we make the idea of autonomous communitites relevant to 
philadelphia and LAVA specifically?

*NEWSPRINT WALL
-dave suggested that we might move all the newsprint to the top of the 
stable shelves with signs about it
-maybe a staffers pick
-kristin wants to make that wall more useful & exciting

*COUCHES?
-chris brought up the age-old idea of getting couches for the library. 
-some hesitation on how that would work since they'd be moved around a 
whole lot. 
-tabled until next time
