hey y'all-

i just wanted to check in about our workday at the library tomorrow.
are we all supposed to arrive at 12pm? i orginally signed up to be at
the library from 3-6pm. but i can some earlier, for sure. what are
folks thinking?

also, is there anything i need to bring?

kat, great zine idea! let's talk more about it tomorrow. (i actually
couldn't get to the link you cut & pasted...but i'm sure it's great.)

chris and i did a bunch of book pawning yesterday! it was really fun.
just to reportback: in terms of getting rid of a good amount of the $1
books, we didn't end up being too successful. but we did get about 25
or so books for the queer, children's, and black studies section!
chris and i took about 5 boxes of the left over books to his house and
our plan is to just accept the fact that we have to recycle them at
firehouse bikes. does that sound okay with everyone else?

oh and another update-- chris and i stopped off at the a-space to give
them that box of books through bars books and the woman that i know
there, lindsay, said that we are welcome to as many of the women's
studies/queer books that they have. they hardly ever get requests for
them. i think this is really exciting cause their books are really
good ones! i figured that i could sort through and pick out books for
the library when i go to the packing night on tuesday. whoever wants
to join me, let me know. how's that sound?

okay, enough outta me. i'll see y'all tomorrow!

BEHOLD!

A two-tiered filing apparatus... on wheels. What do you think?

 Potential drawbacks:
 * no locking mechanisms (different styles with locks and lids are available, but they cost around $260)
 * small zines could potentially fall out if the cart was picked up at an odd angle

 Benefits:
 * the apparatus is mobile and sleek! it could be stored next to the filing cabinet in the window.
 * easily removable file folders could make it easy to browse categories of zines of all different sizes!
 * I would buy it if everyone agrees that it is a good idea! (although if anyone else wants to chip in, i will do a jig.)

So perhaps on Sunday we can work on organizing the zines into categories...AND discuss this new possibility!

 thanks,

 kat
