[Lavalibrary] explanation of the email i just sent out...

hey ya'll-

my previous email is what i came up with for sending out an email 
announcement/update from the lava library. i used language from the 
lava website and then supplemented it with more specific stuff that we 
talked about last night at the meeting. let me know what you think. 
did i forget anything that would be useful to include? should i cut 
something out of it? 

even though some folks are sensitive to using email for outreach, i 
think this little announcement might help remind folks that we exist 
and that we are up and running. i totally agree that using email alone 
is not what we want to be doing. but, for the sake of trying to 
include more folks this might be a good first step. 

also, like i mentioned last night, i'm not on too many lists so i was 
wondering if folks that are on lists could forward this around. and 
what's the process for asking the wooden shoe to forward this out on 
their announcement list? i think that would end up reaching a lotta 
people.
